Blood viscosity is a general term that encompasses a complex process involving capillary permeability and blood pressure. For those who have already been diagnosed with heart disease, there are some simple steps you can take to help lower your blood viscosity. One way is to use a blood thinner such as heparin. Another is to take medications to reduce your blood pressure. And, you could also start by eating foods low in cholesterol and increasing the amount of fiber-rich foods you eat each day.
