Senior Joey Kovach is the leader across all disciplines. The score he scored on his smallbore is greater than all other participants, and he also broke the record in the air rifle. The Skyhawk was the third Skyhawk to lead the team’s total scoring. It’s not easy to accomplish this especially in the face of such a high level of rivalry.

The series was concluded over four days with a victory at Morehead State Saturday by the rifle team from UT Martin. They finished in 5th and 6th positions by scoring 569 and 569 respectively.

The Great American Rifle Conference’s 7th place result sees NC State’s Skyhawks from NC State placed 7th

The NC State rifle team finished 7th at the Great American Rifle Conference Championships with a score of 4667 points. The team scored 581 points. Junior John Peterson of the Wolfpack was also among the top three in small bore. Air rifles were another impressive accomplishment. The junior Addy Burrow was the winner of the opening day’s event with 590 points. It was the Skyhawks team’s first time an individual member of the team shooting the gold medal.

NC State finished its season with a record of 8 wins. It is the school record for wins. The team also ended a 45-game losing streak in the road, and also set new records. The Skyhawks could sign 32 players in the normal time period for signing.
